Rangers star John Lundstram has heaped praise on ‘genius’ boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst after masterminding the club’s run to the Europa League final.
The Gers beat Leipzig 3-1 on Thursday night to book their passage into the Europa League final.
Rangers will head to Seville to take on Eintracht Frankfurt next week with a real chance at a huge piece of silverware.
That would be a stunning achievement from Van Bronckhorst, who has already vastly exceeded expectations by getting Rangers into the final.
League form has been patchy at times under Van Bronckhorst and Rangers are losing the title to Celtic.
Right now though, Rangers fans just don’t really care all that much; European success would easily eclipse winning the Scottish Premiership.
Van Bronckhorst has also guided Rangers into the Scottish Cup final against Hearts last month having beaten Celtic in the semi-finals.
The Dutchman was under pressure after a 3-0 hammering at Celtic in February but is now something of a hero.
Van Bronckhorst, who was appointed as Steven Gerrard’s replacement in November, does need to improve Rangers’ league form next season.
For now though, potentially ending the season with two trophies is a great start.

Van Bronckhorst is now being hailed by Rangers midfielder Lundstram, who was very clearly a Gerrard signing last summer.
Gerrard was a major reason for Lundstram’s decision to swap Sheffield United for Rangers, yet they were split up just months into the season.
Lundstram didn’t actually impress under Gerrard but has been sensational under Van Bronckhorst, going from zero to hero at Ibrox.
Lundstram has now told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Van Bronckhorst is an ‘absolute genius’ tactically.
Lundstram also rates Van Bronckhorst’s calmness highly, with the former Gerrard signing clearly convinced that Rangers have the right man.
“I think, tactically, he’s just an absolute genius,” said Lundstram. “Honestly, his calmness is always there and he instils that through the squad. The tactical switches are great. He puts me where he wants to, at the back and then back into midfield. But it seems to work and it’s just great,” he added.
