The midfielder has not played for Rangers since the Old Firm clash.
Having climbed a mountain on Tuesday, suspended midfielder Joey Barton has hit the golf course during his extended period away from Rangers.
Barton’s original suspension by the club was extended for a further week, meaning the 34-year-old will have a month to sit back, reflect and promote his book.
On Wednesday, Rangers’ number eight went for a round of 18 at Loch Lomond, the course that hosed the Scottish Open between 2001 and 2010.
While the midfielder probably has not done as well as Open winners Ernie Els and Martin Kaymer, Barton could not help but take in the beauty of the course.
However, as picturesque as the landscape is, Barton stated: “Would much prefer to be playing football.”
The controversial figure has not played since a bust up with Andy Halliday following the Old Firm defeat, which saw him suspended for his actions.

Barton’s career at Ibrox hangs in the balance already, having only joined the club in the summer.
While a round of golf at the glorious Loch Lomond course, Barton will be waiting nervously to see if he still has a future under Mark Warburton when he eventually returns to training.
