Celtic are into the group stages of the Champions League once again, but only just.
They led 5-2 heading into the second leg against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, only to fall apart in Israel, losing 2-0.
This was enough to send them through 5-4, although only just, with Craig Gordon saving a penalty early in the game, which proved crucial as 5-5 would have sent Celtic out on away goals.

Barton is not afraid to hold his tongue and has been winding up Celtic fans and staff ever since arriving at Rangers this summer. You get the clear impression he would have loved it if they were eliminated this evening.
He gets his chance to face Celtic in the league on September 10, and do his talking on the pitch for a change.
This win may feel lucky for Celtic, but they did the hard work in the first leg and gave themselves enough room for error, and that advantage paid off this evening, even if it was a nail biter.
