Rangers injury update as Gerrard confirms positive Ryan Jack news

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed Ianis Hagi hasn’t shown any symptoms of Covid-19 following his positive test – although the Romanian star looks set to miss the clash with Lyon in the Europa League due to his isolation.

Hagi tested positive while on international duty and originally faced a 20-day quarantine before it was cut short once he returned to his native country.

Gerrard has been in contact with the Rangers star while he’s been isolating in Romania and will speak with Hagi again today as he prepares to face St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

“I spoke to Ianis (Hagi) and he didn’t have any symptoms which is good news, I will catch up with him again today,” Gerrard said [Rangers].

Rangers podcast Heart and Hand added some more detail by reporting Hagi looks set to miss the Lyon tie on Thursday as well.

There was some positive news however with Ryan Jack edging closer to a return to action after a ‘good week’ and the Gers expecting an update on Nnamdi Ofoborh next week.

The return of Jack soon is one that Rangers fans have been waiting patiently for and the Scotland international has been a big loss while sidelines.

After spending months out of action, having Jack back in the squad will almost be like a new signing for Rangers.
