Glasgow Rangers snapped up Ryan Jack on a free two years ago and the Ibrox midfielder has been sensational for Steven Gerrard and his charges.

Glasgow Rangers cult hero Ian Durrant has spoken highly of Ibrox star Ryan Jack, describing the midfielder as “a mixture of everything” in terms of his footballing credentials in the middle of the park, as reported by The Scotsman.
The 27-year-old has been an important part of Rangers’ impressive start to the season in the Europa League and Scottish Premiership, building on from his great work last season for Steven Gerrard’s side, helping them to second place in the Scottish Premiership and two Old Firm victories at Ibrox.
With Rangers locking horns with bitter rivals Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, the latest edition of the Old Firm derby will prove a key litmus test if the Light Blues are to outline their title credentials, and although Durrant is impressed with the whole Gers midfield contingent, he has singled Jack out for praise.
“Rangers have great quality in midfield now and Ryan has been fantastic right since the start of this campaign,” Durrant is quoted by The Scotsman as saying. “Ryan has been an ever-present… others have dropped out but he now seems to be a first pick for Gerrard. He has a mixture of everything – he can play all right, although he’d probably admit himself that he could add more goals to his game.

“He’s the sitting midfielder, though, and he likes a tackle and he very rarely gives the ball away. The manager raves about him and I can relate to that because when I was on the coaching side I always used to relate more to the midfielders.”
Jack joined Rangers in June 2017 on a free transfer after leaving Aberdeen, Pedro Caixinha’s second Ibrox signing that summer (BBC Sport), and the £1.35million-valued ace (Transfermarkt) has made 75 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring five goals and claiming seven assists (Transfermarkt).
