Glasgow Rangers marksman Alfredo Morelos is set for the biggest game of his career at Ibrox tomorrow.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers is seen prior to the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos is set to get his first taste of the Old Firm on Saturday when Celtic visit Ibrox.

The 21-year-old striker has eight goals in 10 appearances for the Gers following a £1 million move from HJK Helsinki in the summer.

And it’s safe to say that he’s been something of a revelation for Rangers, given his goal return, but the big question is whether he will show up for Pedro Caixinha’s side tomorrow?

He’s never played the Old Firm before, as we know, but he has experience of local derbies – and his record in them is very encouraging from a Blues perspective.

During his 42-match spell in Finland, the Colombian marksman faced HIFK Helsinki – HJK’s main cross-city rivals in the top flight – on six occasions and managed an impressive four goals, according to Transfermarkt.

For the sake of omens, he also only lost one of those six, scoring in a 2-1 defeat last September.

The Old Firm is likely a different animal to that rivalry, but it remains a big occasion in that context and history suggests he does do it on a big stage.

Tomorrow might just be the biggest game of his burgeoning career and it’s intriguing to see whether he enhances his reputation as one of the Premiership’s most exciting young talents.
