Glasgow Rangers’ return to the Scottish Premiership has been eventful.
Barcelona Bear Peter McCloy has urged Mark Warburton to rethink the brand of football that his Rangers side play as while it is pleasing to watch, it can put the team under pressure at times, The Scottish Sun reports.
Ever since his arrival at Ibrox, Warburton has encouraged his players to play a free-flowing brand of football. And while it led them to plenty of success last season, life has been slightly more problematic in the Scottish Premiership.

Though the Gers are second in the table, they are already a long way off top spot and some of their performances have been less than convincing.
And McCloy has suggested that the style of play has been one of the main reasons for their inability to replicate their form from last season.

“There’s nothing wrong with having your beliefs or with the total football Mark is trying to get them to play — I totally agree with it — but we’re not Barcelona,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
“They can play that way because they’ve got multi-million pound players who don’t give the ball away. When we play like that and the other team pinches the ball off us, we’re usually left very exposed at the back.

“You can tighten up these things — and sometimes you’ve just got to win ugly.”
With the number of new signings they made over the summer, it is hardly surprising that it has taken time for Rangers to start finding their feet in the top flight.
And Warburton may argue that once the new signings with a future at Ibrox settle in and understand the philosophy he wants to instil in the squad, they will have no problem achieving success while playing expansive and exciting football.
