Derek Johnstone has predicted that Mark Warburton will be more than happy if his Rangers side come away from Inverness on Friday having only secured a narrow victory, the Evening Times reports.
While the international break may have killed many teams’ momentum, the Gers will take plenty of belief knowing that they went into the break having enjoyed some of their strongest performances of the season in recent weeks.

And with Caley three places below them in the Scottish Premiership table, Mark Warburton’s men will fancy their chances of picking up where they left off.
But Johnstone has suggested that the Light Blues must not go into the game with any complacency as their opponents boast enough talent to make them pay.
“Rangers will have to play well. If there are a couple of players under par, then they won’t get anything from the game,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“It is a vital fixture for us and the kind of game where you just have to find a way to win and make sure you come back with the three points.
“Inverness won’t allow them to play and they will make it difficult for Rangers. Mark would certainly take a scrappy 1-0 win and then he can start to focus on the Celtic game.”

As Johnstone alluded to, Richie Foran’s side have impressed recently. They are unbeaten in their last five games, winning two and drawing three, and could potentially leap above the Ibrox side in the table if they secure a convincing win.
But with the League Cup semi-final against Celtic on the horizon, and despite Johnstone suggesting otherwise, Warburton will surely be instructing his players to send a message to their Old Firm foes on Friday by claiming a dominant victory.
