Glasgow Rangers have made a mixed start to life back in the Scottish Premiership.
Ranges legend Derek Parlane has insisted that he is delighted that the club’s fortunes on the pitch has been the main talking point this season rather than any issues involving the board, the Evening Times reports.
Mark Warburton’s men are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, but it has certainly been a turbulent return to the top flight for the Gers.

The Light Blues have fallen well behind current league leaders Celtic, having so far failed to win three league games in a row since their promotion.
But after watching the club have to claw their way back through the divisions over the last few years, Parlane has suggested that it is pleasing to see the football taking many of the headlines.
“This is a big thing and I am delighted, as all the fans should be, that we are talking about the players on the field and not the people in the boardroom these days,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“For how many years did we take our eye off the ball about what was going on on the park to focus on the boardroom?
“That is a lot more stable and now the fans are talking about what they should be talking about.
“It is about the manager and the players having that pride of pulling on that jersey and playing for Rangers. It is a breath of fresh air that we are talking about that again.”
While things have been fairly quiet at boardroom level, there has still been some controversy at Ibrox this season surrounding summer signing Joey Barton.

After initially being suspended in September, many Rangers fans would have been hoping for a quick resolution so the saga did not drag on. However, it was only recently that it was announced that Barton was to leave the club, so it would hardly have been a surprise if the questions surrounding his future had a negative impact on the rest of the squad.
But with the situation now resolved, it seems the path is now clear for Warburton’s men to go on and concentrate solely on matters on the pitch.
