The 36-year-old is Glasgow Rangers’ joint top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Rangers hero Derek Parlane has hailed the contribution that Kenny Miller continues to make for Mark Warburton’s men and insisted that the 36-year-old has been remarkable this season, the Evening Times reports.

Miller has surprised many by remaining something of a talisman for the Gers following their promotion to the top flight. His three goals this term makes him the side’s joint top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership currently, while his winner against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in October brought up his century of goals for the Ibrox club.

And Parlane – who scored 80 league goals for the Gers and was inducted into the club’s hall of fame in 2010 – has admitted that he cannot help but be impressed by Miller’s form.

“For Kenny to be doing what he is at 36 and show the work rate that he is showing is remarkable. He obviously keeps himself fit and he is a credit to himself,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“It was not something that was common in my day. I talk about this quite a lot.”

Given Martyn Waghorn’s sensational form last season, few would have perhaps expected the veteran to make such an important contribution this term, but without Miller, the Light Blues would be in a much less impressive position in the top flight.

Though three goals in 12 games is hardly prolific, each strike has proved to be vital as incredibly, they have all turned out to be the winning goals in the respective games in which they came.

So had he decided to call it a day before the season started or Warburton decided to use him much more sparingly, and thus, he had not scored the goals he has done, Rangers would be six points worse off and even further adrift of the summit.
