Alex McLeish appears to be the favourite to come in to replace Mark Warburton at Glasgow Rangers in some capacity.

Rangers hero Dado Prso has insisted that while he does not know what Mark Warburton’s style was like, his knowledge of David Weir’s personality makes him believe that Alex McLeish could be the ideal person to come in and take over at Ibrox, The Scottish Sun reports.
The Gers are on the lookout for a new manager after parting company with Warburton last week following a difficult few months that have seen Rangers fall well behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, and leave the door open for Aberdeen to create some daylight between the two clubs in the race for second.
The Light Blues have won just one of the three top flight fixtures they have played since the season restarted following the winter break. But Prso – who was part of the Rangers team that won the title on Helicopter Sunday in 2005 under McLeish – believes that his old boss could be the man to change the mentality and get the best out of the current players.
“Alex knows how to coach too. If the players at Ibrox need to be pushed more then he can do that,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
“Mark Warburton isn’t somebody I know very well, but I do know David Weir and he’s a very peaceful and thoughtful man.
“Maybe the players need someone to tell them how it is. Alex knows how to shout, and it’s possible that’s what these Rangers players need.”
While McLeish left Ibrox nearly 11 years ago, there is no question that he will need little time to adjust to the surroundings if he does get the chance to go back.
He will understand the expectation and may be able to use his experience to help the players realise what is expected of them also.
And while winning a league title appears to be a long way off, Prso appears confident that if anyone can deliver it in the coming years, it will be the 58-year-old who oversaw the seemingly-impossible title win 12 years ago.
