Glasgow Rangers want to bring Jamie Walker to Ibrox, but one player Hearts were looking at as a replacement has no plans to leave his current club.
According to the Daily Record’s live transfer feed (25th June 2017; 10:19 am), Hearts had identified Chris Cadden as a potential replacement for Rangers target Jamie Walker – but the 20-year-old’s recent comments to the Evening Times suggest that the Gers may have to wait a while longer before they get their man.
The Daily Record’s live transfer feed (25th June 2017; 10:19 am) reported that Hearts are resigned to losing Walker after rejecting a bid from the Light Blues, and had made an offer for the Motherwell midfielder in an attempt to fill the void that Walker looks set to leave.

However, the Daily Record added that that bid had been rejected by Well, and Cadden has now explained that he is more than happy to stay exactly where he is.
“I’m enjoying being here with Motherwell,” he told the Evening Times.
“They are my boyhood club. I’ve been here since I was nine-years-old. I’m living my dream right now, this is all I wanted to do when I was younger. I’m enjoying myself and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing until told otherwise.”
The news that Cadden looks set to stay with Motherwell may prove a blow to Pedro Caixinha as he may have been hoping that a move to Hearts would have freed up Walker to potentially make the move to Ibrox.
Though the Daily Record has suggested that Walker’s exit seems inevitable – though they did not suggest whether a move to Rangers could be his only potential destination – Caixinha may have been hoping that Hearts find a replacement as quickly as possible.

That – if Rangers did subsequently win the race to sign him – would enable the 24-year-old to have plenty of time to adapt to his new surroundings, which would surely give him a better chance of hitting the ground running.
But if they are waiting for Hearts to find a replacement before they can press on with a deal, it appears that they may have to wait a while longer.
