Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick was signed by Mark Warburton in the January transfer window.
Wes Foderingham is the first-choice goalkeeper at Rangers at the moment, while Alnwick is his deputy.
The 24-year-old former Newcastle United custodian joined the Gers in the January transfer window when Mark Warburton, who is now in charge of Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England, was the manager at Ibrox.
The former England Under-18 international made the switch to Scottish Premiership club Rangers after impressive performances for Port Vale.
One suspects that Alnwick wants to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Rangers under manager Pedro Caixinha, but the former Newcastle man has made it clear that there is camaraderie and healthy competition among the custodians.
“Obviously you’ve got me, Wes, Liam [Kelly] and even Robby [McCrorie] and the young lads,” Alnwick told Rangers’ official website. “But we’ve all said that together as a unit we’re really good.
“We’re always having a laugh day in and day out and it’s good because it is competition but it is healthy competition and we’re all good friends.
“To have that base between the goalkeepers has been nice. Although there have been a lot of changes we’ve still got the four goalkeepers stuck together.
“It’s one of those things, you like to have as much competition as you can and you look and there’s not a bad goalkeeper here.”
Rangers endured a disappointing Scottish Premiership campaign last season, as they finished third in the league table.
The Gers will be aiming to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this campaign, and perhaps they will give Brendan Rodgers’s side a run for their money.
