Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack will miss the rest of the season – and Scotlands Euro 2020 campaign – after Gers boss Steven Gerrard confirmed the midfielder requires surgery.
Jack has been out of action since limping out against Dundee United in February and the Ibrox boss is confident the industrious midfielder should be fit in time for the start of pre-season training.
The former Aberdeen star was widely expected to be named in Steve Clarke’s squad for this summer’s Euros but the Scotland boss will now need to find an alternative to anchor his midfield.
The Euros, postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will kick off for the Tartan Army against the Czech Republic at Hampden on June 14.
While Gerrard admitted losing Jack was “bad news” he is happy that they have “found a solution” to the problems that have plagued Jack this season and left him on the sidelines for more games than he’s played.
“The bad news is he is ruled out for the rest of the season and unfortunately the Euros,” Gerrard told Rangers TV.

“Bad news for Scotland as he has been phenomenal The good news is we have found a solution to his problem, all being well he should be good to return in pre-season.”
