Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn has revealed to The Daily Record what he thinks of new manager Pedro Caixinha.

Caixinha has been appointed as the new manager of Rangers following the departure of Mark Warburton from Ibrox last month.

“He’s really good, he’s open, you can go and have a chat with him,” Waghorn told The Daily Record about Caixinha.

“He has a lot of experience abroad but seems to have watched a lot of our games. He has spoken to players individually about what he has seen and what he expects.”

Waghorn was stunning for Rangers during the 2015-16 season, playing a key role in the Gers’ automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship.

The 27-year-old forward, though, has struggled to make a huge impact in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The former Leicester City and Wigan Athletic man’s current contract with Rangers runs out in June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Daily Mail’s print edition (21/03, p75) has credited Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland with interest in the forward (click here to read more).

Waghorn’s comments about Caixinha suggests that he seems to be looking forward to working with the Portuguese.

Perhaps the former Sunderland forward will return to form in the coming weeks and guide Rangers to a second-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership this season.
