Glasgow Rangers have had a mixed start to the new campaign and some of their players are struggling to perform.

Pedro Caixinha poses with a team shirt after he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on March 13, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers signed plenty of new faces this summer as their manager Pedro Caixinha attempted to build a squad capable of challenging Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title in his first full season at the helm.

So far things have not gone completely according to plan, with the Gers sitting fifth in the table with seven points from their first five matches.

There is still a lot of football to be played and Caixinha will know patience is the key as Rangers attempt to force their way back into trophy contention, however some of the club’s players flattered to deceive prior to the international break.

Here we take a look at four men who have simply not done enough at Ibrox thus far:

Carlos Salcedo and Carlos Pena of Guadalajara celebrate after scoring against Dorados during their Mexican Clausura 2016 tournament football match at Chivas stadium on May 1, 2016 in...

Carlos Pena

When Rangers signed Mexican international Carlos Pena earlier this summer, it seemed they had pulled off a masterstroke. But fast-forward a few months and the 27-year-old has generated far more criticism than praise.

With just two substitute appearances to date, Pena has a lot to do to win over the naysayers, especially when you consider his last outing against Ross County was woeful.

Carlos Salcido (R) of Guadalajara vies for the ball with Eduardo Herrera of Veracruz during their Mexican Clausura 2017 tournament football match at Chivas stadium on March 18, 2017 in...

Eduardo Herrera

Striker Eduardo Herrera found the net last time out yet he has to do a lot more than that in the weeks ahead.

The 29-year-old struggled to make an impact on his league debut and has fallen out of favour since then.

In time he could come good, but given his experience Rangers fans would have expected more from the outset.

Euciodalcio Gomes of Rangers takes control during the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round match between Rangers and Progres Niederkorn at the Ibrox Stadium on June 29, 2017 in...

Dalcio

Arguably the worst performer so far, Rangers winger Dalcio looked terrible in the Europa League second leg against Progres Niederkorn and he has not played a single minute since.

Running around like a headless chicken and with no final ball of note, the 21-year-old has to undergo one hell of a transformation unless he wants to be remembered as a Rangers flop, even at this early stage of his career.

Jason Holt

A potentially controversial pick, Jason Holt struggled in the first leg against Progres and has barely been seen since.

A regular in the starting line-up last season, Holt has suffered more than most in terms of the raft of new faces at Ibrox and it is hard to see where his next start will come from.
