Fans of Scottish Premiership side Glasgow Rangers have identified one summer signing they want at Ibrox.

The January transfer window has only been closed a matter of days but it looks like Rangers fans already have an eye on one man who Graeme Murty should sign in the summer.
Youssouf Mulumbu was the hero for Kilmarnock on Saturday as his 70th-minute winner sealed a 1-0 victory over Rangers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic – only their second domestic defeat under Brendan Rodgers.

In addition to his goal, the 31-year-old was a force throughout the contest at Rugby Park and, considering the fact that Killie boss Steve Clarke snapped him up for free in November, Mulumbu is starting to look like quite a coup.
Indeed, the Democratic Republic of Congo star is ripping up the Premiership at the moment and with his contract expiring this summer, Rangers fans believe that the Premier League veteran should be top of Murty’s wishlist of players he wants at Ibrox.

But is it likely? Not unless Murty oversees a summer clearout because, at the moment, Rangers have an abundance of similar players.
Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans, Andy Halliday, Jason Holt, Jordan Rossiter and Sean Goss – on loan from QPR – all operate in central midfield or defensive midfield at a push and it seems unlikely that the 43-year-old manager will be after anyone of a similar ilk unless quite a few go out.
Still, even at 31 Mulumbu is a big upgrade on most, if not all of them with perhaps the exception of the injured Dorrans – who played with the midfielder at West Brom – and he could certainly give the Gers a solid few years if they were to get him.
