The striker has been linked with an exit in the summer.
Hutton Rangers
Recently there has been much talk at Rangers regarding the future of Martyn Waghorn. The striker is entering the final year of his contract at Ibrox this summer and is being linked with moves to Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and, Premier League relegation fighters, Sunderland by the Daily Mail. He is also being linked with an unlikely move to Nottingham Forest, where he would join up with his former Rangers manager Mark Warburton.
Many a Rangers fan does not seem bothered by his potential exit, despite his impressive record of 15 goals in 31 games this season.
Many consider him a flat-track bully and he has failed to produce the goods against tougher opposition. With that in mind, his exit would not be mourned by many, even if it was on the cheap.
But those Rangers fans might want to remember Alan Hutton. Back in 2006-07 Hutton was discarded from Paul Le Guen’s plans and, at the time, not many Rangers fans were that disappointed.
The young right-back had struggled to perform and Rangers, under Le Guen, were likely to let him go.

But once Walter Smith came back in Hutton began to thrive again. He signed a new deal in the summer of 2007 and remained with the club until signing for Tottenham in January 2008.
By that time, Rangers fans were desperate for him to stay and many would have him back now.
Waghorn might deserve some time under new manager Pedro Caixinha before Rangers decide to ditch him.
He might come good again.
