Kenny Miller has claimed that Rangers fans will be ‘pretty happy’ if Giovanni van Bronckhorst is to be their new manager, as he told Sky Sports.
The Dutch legend has held positive talks with Rangers about replacing Steven Gerrard in the Ibrox dugout, according to BBC Sport.
Several names have been linked with the job, but none of them, including the likes of Frank Lampard, have the connection Van Bronckhorst has with the Rangers supporters.
Will that play a part in those in the Ibrox boardroom leaning towards him?
Well, it remains to be seen, but it does seem as though he is one of the key front runners.
Miller shared that if it were to be the former midfielder then he would be a ‘good fit’ for the club.
“I think on the face of it Giovanni looks a good fit,” said Miller. “He’s still a relatively young manager.
“He has had good experience with Feyenoord. Again success, I think it was the cup he won, the league and then the cup the following season.
“He had a decent run in China as well, so he has been experienced there and had success. He knows the club inside out and has had a very successful spell.
“On the face of it, it looks a good fit – I think Giovanni is the front runner and I think a lot of Rangers fans will be pretty happy if he was appointed.”

Some at Rangers will still probably be rocked at Gerrard leaving because it was so unexpected.
But they have no time to dwell on the matter and they have to get a new face in as soon as possible.
They need to make sure he is the right fit because of the pressure cooker of environment he is walking into.
But if the person in question understands the club, then it would be an added bonus because Rangers also need someone with a presence and character out on that touchline.
