The Rangers striker’s future at Ibrox remains uncertain.
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos spoke to reporters today, and admitted that there is a lot of interest in his signature ahead of the January transfer window, whilst declaring that it is his dream to play in the Premier League, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 22-year-old has been nothing short of a revelation for the Gers, since moving to Ibrox from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017, scoring 38 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions.
Morelos is widely considered to be one of the best strikers in Scotland, if not the best, and he is arguably Steven Gerrard’s most important player at Rangers.
And with that in mind, his latest comments will fill the Ibrox faithful with dread.
The Colombian spoke to reporters, and suggested that there will be offers for his services next month, as quoted by the Daily Record:
“It’s very likely there are several teams looking at me and that there will be offers, but there is nothing concrete yet. I have to wait until the last game of the year is played and will try to end 2018 in a positive way. My dream is to play in the English Premier League. It’s very similar to the football in Scotland.”
Next up for Rangers is their huge Old Firm clash with Celtic on Saturday, and if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating the Hoops, Morelos will have to be on his very best form.
Gerrard’s men could actually head into the winter break top of the pile, but only if they beat Celtic by four goals.
