Rangers youngster Zak Rudden scored a hat-trick on Tuesday.
Rangers striker Zak Rudden scored a sensational hat-trick for the Light Blues’ development side on Tuesday afternoon as the Gers beat AEK Athens 4-1 at the Ravenscraig Sports Centre – and Gers fans want him in the first team.
The 18-year-old, born in February 2000, put the Greek youngsters to the sword with three well-taken goals as the Gers’ academy side continue to shine against foreign opponents.
AEK Athens join Valencia and Villarreal as sides beaten by Billy Kirkwood’s side of late, as Rudden also grabbed an assist for captain Stephen Kelly to find the back of the net for the Gers’ third.
Jamie Barjonas, Glenn Middleton and Myles Beerman were also part of the side that disposed of AEK, with the latter currently on loan at Scottish Championship side Queen of the South.
The Gers went 1-0 down but Rudden equalised soon after with a diving header, before scoring immediately after the break to go 2-1 ahead. Kelly scored next, before Rudden made it four after being put through on goal with 13 minutes left on the clock.
Rangers fans took note of Rudden’s hat-trick and are desperate to see him promoted into the first team, despite Graeme Murty boasting senior strikers in the form of Eduardo Herrera, Jason Cummings and Alfredo Morelos.
