Glasgow Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar played the full game as the Ibrox side booked their place in the next round.
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Niko Kranjcar’s performance following the Gers’ Scottish Cup win over Fraserburgh, and it appears that many Gers supporters would not mind if the tie proves to be the Croatian’s final appearance for the club.
Kranjcar has endured an extremely difficult time since arriving at Ibrox in the summer of 2016. He has often been injured and has never really been able to enjoy a prolonged run in the team, and thus, his form has been incredibly inconsistent.
The 33-year-old made his first appearance for more than a month as the Gers travelled to the Highland League side on Wednesday, and played the full 90 minutes as a Josh Windass hat-trick saw Graeme Murty’s men book their place in the next round.
And while Kranjcar had a hand in all of the Light Blues’ goals, it appears that a number of Rangers fans were less than impressed with his display.
While the former Premier League midfielder impressed some, others felt that there was a lack of effort from Kranjcar, and some who commented after the game optimistically expressed their hope that he would seal a move in the final hours of the January transfer window. Obviously that did not happen.
It is perhaps a harsh assessment of a player who has had such a torrid time with injuries, but many are convinced that he will not be able to prove that he was a good signing for the club, so a summer exit should be considered.
