Rangers moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon, beating Hamilton Academical shortly after seeing Celtic lose at Livingston.

The Gers hammered Hamilton 5-0 on Sunday, with Jermain Defoe hitting a hat-trick to hand Steven Gerrard all three points and top spot in the Scottish Premiership.

Just about an hour before kick off at Ibrox, Celtic slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat at Livingston, with Neil Lennon having a nightmare day at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Ryan Christie was sent off for a high challenge in the first half, and Livingston took advantage just after the break as Scott Robinson put the hosts in front.

As Celtic looked to push for an equaliser, they completely misjudged a long ball from Matija Sarkic, and Lyndon Dykes ran onto the ball before lofting over Fraser Forster to seal a 2-0 win.
