Several Glasgow Rangers fans reacted to the news regarding their former manager by urging the club to bring their former winger back to Ibrox.

After an incredibly inconsistent start to the Championship season, Nottingham Forest announced on Sunday that they had parted company with Mark Warburton – and that prompted plenty of discussion amongst Rangers fans on Twitter, with many asking the club to try and bring Barrie McKay back to Ibrox.
Warburton was the manager who led the Gers to promotion back to the Scottish Premiership in 2016 and was the last man to oversee a Rangers win in an Old Firm game, but his tenure ended in February and he ended up at a City Ground a few weeks later.

Less than a year into his spell with Forest however, he has been dismissed with the club 14th in the Championship after 10 wins, one draw and 14 defeats in the second tier this term, and his departure has left some Rangers fans to ask for their club to go after a player that Warburton signed from them in the summer.
McKay was at his best in a Rangers shirt when Warburton was in charge. And he has undoubtedly been one of the players who has performed following his move to England, scoring five and contributing seven assists in the Championship.

Given that form, it seems incredibly unlikely that McKay will be available or even in the Gers’ price range, but that has still not stopped some of the fans expressing their desire to see the 23-year-old back at the club.
And he is not the only player who the fans want to see targeted in light of the news about their old boss, with striker Jason Cummings – who also arrived in the summer after a prolific spell in Scotland – also on their ambitious wishlist following Warburton’s departure.
Here is what some of the Rangers fans had to say after Warburton’s exit was announced…
