Reports this week suggest Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha may be in need of a new number one at Ibrox.
Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has been linked with a Mark Warburton reunion at Nottingham Forest.
Foderingham is one of only a handful of Warburton’s Ibrox recruits who seems to feature in the plans of new boss Pedro Caixinha, and Rangers are unlikely to want to sell him.

Nevertheless, a move to Forest, who have already signed Barrie McKay from Rangers this summer, could appeal to the player, while the Gers may be willing to sell if they can find a suitable replacement.
And Rangers fans think they have found the perfect candidate in Hull City’s Allan McGregor…

What’s his situation?
First choice during Hull’s promotion-winning campaign two years ago, McGregor was displaced by ex-Celtic man David Marshall at the start of last season. In January, he headed to Cardiff City on loan, where he kept himself sharp across 19 appearances. The 35-year-old is now back at Hull, where he has a year left on his contract. However, it’s plausible to think he could follow the raft of Tigers players to have headed out of the KCOM Stadium this summer, with little or no transfer fee required. Hull recently offloaded Eldin Jakupovic to Leicester City, but still have Marshall and Will Mannion on the books, while new boss Leonid Slutsky may want his own goalkeepers on board.
Would he go back to Rangers?
If the chance to be Ibrox number one was presented to him, then it’s unlikely the Edinburgh native would turn it down. Despite being among those to have opted against transferring their registration to the newco in 2012, it would appear as though, unlike certain others, the Rangers fans would have no issue with McGregor’s return. He could potentially earn more money elsewhere, but at this stage in his career that may not matter too much.

Would Caixinha want him?
Who knows. While Pedro has relied heavily on his knowledge of the Portuguese and Mexican markets so far, the signings of Ryan Jack and Graham Dorrans show he’s not averse to looking closer to home for players. And despite his advancing years, someone of McGregor’s reputation could be hard to ignore. If Foderingham remains at Ibrox, however, then there would be little need to sign the former Scotland number one.
