Hill left Ibrox in June after just one season at Rangers.
Rangers fans are urging Chesterfield to hand Clint Hill a contract after the former Ibrox favourite joined the English side for training.
Chesterfield boss Gary Caldwell – formerly of Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic – confirmed the news via the club’s Twitter account on Monday, adding he would ‘consider signing any player of Hill’s quality’.
Though Hill was released by Rangers earlier this summer, most consider his season at Ibrox to have been a success.
The 38-year-old appeared 30 times for the Scottish giants, across all competitions, and ended the campaign as the club’s fourth top scorer with six goals – one of which arrived during March’s 1-1 draw at Celtic Park.
And Rangers fans have made no secret of their desire to see Hill return to football – with one even promising to visit him at Chesterfield if he’s handed a contract.
