Rangers beat St MIrren 4-0 at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers made it two league wins in a row on Saturday afternoon as they hammered St Mirren 4-0 at Ibrox in a bizarre victory.
The Gers beat Livingston last weekend before advancing in the Scottish Cup past Cowdenbeath in midweek, and were looking for another league win.
They got it in strange circumstances, as they were handed four penalties in Saturday’s win, with James Tavernier scoring the first early on.
Tavernier then missed his second spot kick, but scored from the spot again on 55 minutes, before Rangers were handed another penalty – but Tavernier allowed Jermain Defoe to take it, grabbing his first Ibrox goal.
Rangers ran out 4-0 winners after Ryan Kent added a goal himself, keeping the pressure on Celtic ahead of their away game against St Johnstone this afternoon.
Steven Gerrard will have been pleased with the performance, but fans weren’t impressed with the performance of midfielder Steven Davis.
The Northern Irishman returned to Rangers last month having struggled for playing time at Southampton, and fans feel that he way off the pace and needs to get up to speed quickly if he’s going to be starting.
Davis went off after 63 minutes against St Mirren, and fans suggested on Twitter that they weren’t impressed at all, feeling Davis was very poor and has looked ‘bang average’ so far.
