Glasgow Rangers are flying high on top of the Scottish Premiership table and both September awards now sit proudly at Ibrox too.

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the Ibrox side picking up both Scottish Premiership monthly awards as Steven Gerrard and Alfredo Morelos were named the top manager and player in the league for September.
Gerrard led Rangers to victories in all three of their league matches last month – their Old Firm derby defeat on September 1 counted as an August fixture – as the Ibrox scored 12 goals and conceded just one in the process.
Colombia striker Morelos, meanwhile, scored in each of the three league wins in September – plus an assist in the 5-0 thrashing of Aberdeen – to take his tally to 14 goals in 19 appearances this season.
Talking of his award, Gerrard is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: “It is a collective effort. We as a staff can’t collect these unless the players are doing the job on the pitch and the players have been fantastic for the majority of the season.”
Regarding Morelos, the Ibrox boss added: “Alfredo deserves it. I am always pleased to see my players get individual accolades. He has been in fine form, enjoying his football and looking deadly in the penalty area.”
Here is what some Bears said on Twitter regarding the Ibrox duo securing the awards double, in response the Rangers social media post:
Although October started with a defeat away to Young Boys in the Europa League, Rangers responded with a comprehensive win over Hamilton Academical that allowed them to leapfrog Celtic after they lost at Livingston.
Up next for the Ibrox side is Sunday’s Scottish Premiership trip to Hearts.
