Glasgow Rangers Reserves beat Falkirk to ensure the SPFL Reserve League title will go to Ibrox.

Glasgow Rangers Reserves have brought the SPFL Reserve League title to Ibrox after a 3-1 final-day win over Falkirk, pipping Old Firm rivals Celtic on goal difference.

The Hoops had beaten St Johnstone 3-2 to sit alongside Gers on 38 points from 17 games, but Graeme Murty’s charges finished the campaign four goals better off.

Hibernian were also in the running, but as they had played all the games ahead of the final day, they would have only taken the title both Rangers and Celtic had lost.

Rangers actually went a goal behind to Falkirk after Nikolay Todorov finished off a Bairns counter-attack but they equalised through Rhys Breen’s header from Stephen Kelly’s delivery.

Andrew Dallas then edged the Light Blues into the lead five minutes before the break after latching on to Breen’s layoff despite goalkeeper Robbie Mutch’s best efforts.

Rangers did not make the victory comfortable until two minutes from time when Josh McPake was brought down by Scott Reekie and Dallas stepped up to fire high into the net.

Murty took to Twitter to congratulate everyone involved with the Rangers reserve team:
