Glasgow Rangers will begin their quest to bring Scottish Premiership title number 55 to Ibrox with a trip to Rugby Park to play Kilmarnock.

Steven Gerrard’s side faced Killie on the final day of the 2018-19 season, and they will return for their 2019-20 opener on Sunday 4 August in a televised game.

The first Ibrox league game of the season will be against Hibernian the following week, with St Mirren away after that, and then attention turns to none other than the Old Firm derby.

Rangers won two derbies at Ibrox last season and they will be eager to make it three on 31 August and set the tone over their bitter rivals early on in the campaign.

In terms of festive fixtures, Gerrard’s charges host Kilmarnock on Boxing Day before Rangers face their Glasgow rivals away on 29 December in their final fixture before the winter break.

The third Old Firm derby of the campaign takes place at Ibrox on 14 March, with St Mirren and Motherwell the final games before the split on 4 April.

Here is how some Bears reacted to the club’s Twitter announcement of the fixtures:

The Scottish Premiership will kick off on the weekend of 3-4 August, take a winter break between 30 December and 17 January, and conclude on the weekend of 16-17 May with the Premiership playoff final scheduled for 20 and 24 May.
