Rangers brought in not one but two strikers last summer – and they could even add another one this summer.
The Gers landed Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten, but questions will linger over Alfredo Morelos whilst Jermain Defoe will be out of contract.
Now, Give Me Sport report that Rangers are eyeing up a move to sign Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga on a free transfer.
Boro paid a huge £15million to sign Assombalonga from Nottingham Forest in 2017, but he now looks set to leave for free when his contract ends this summer.
The DR Congo international hit 30 goals in 65 games for Forest before scoring double figures in each of his first three seasons with Boro.
This term though, Assombalonga has scored just five goals in 22 games, and that record means some Rangers fans are a little split about a deal.

Some think Assombalonga is a ‘class’ player, believing that he would score for fun in Scotland and fire Rangers closer to title number 56.
Others think Assombalonga wouldn’t get near the Rangers squad and would be a waste of money based on his Championship record, seemingly feeling that the Gers can do better.
