David Bates left Rangers to join Hamburg in the summer, and has impressed since.

David Bates’ exit from Rangers in the summer seemed largely avoidable, and his excellent form for Hamburger SV in Germany this season is only going to infuriate Gers fans more.
That is because The Sunday Mirror – via the Daily Record – have claimed that Arsenal and Everton lead the way while Leicester, Watford and Southampton are all interested in signing the 22-year-old defender.
The Daily Record claimed back in April that the Scotland Under-21 international wanted just £7,500 a week, but Rangers failed to meet his demands and Hamburg swooped in.
Since then, Bates has helped Hamburg keep six clean sheets in eight Bundesliga 2 matches, who now sit in fourth after suffering relegation last season. They sit two points off the top of the table.
Rangers fans were not impressed with Bates’ exit, and they will be even more frustrated with the fact that he is starring Germany and attracting interest from some of Germany’s best sides.

Blame has to be attached to Murty, who was in charge at the time after taking over from Pedro Caixinha. The Portuguese boss gave Bates his debut, and even played him in Old Firm clash during the 2016-17 season.
Rangers will now be made to watch from afar as Bates’ value skyrockets, and a big-money move to the Premier League could be on the cards.
