Glasgow Rangers have signed several players in a bid to bring glory back to Ibrox this coming season.

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ibrox ace Ryan Jack for a bold comment regarding the strength of the Gers squad now compared to last season (official club website).

Rangers have had a busy transfer window so far with Steven Davis, Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart, George Edmunson, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Aribo all coming on board at Ibrox ahead of a big season in which a return to silverware and glory seems closer than ever before.

The Light Blues are deep into pre-season preparations, having flown out last Saturday to a warm-weather training camp in Portugal, and the players are being put through their paces by Steven Gerrard and his coaches in high-intensity training sessions ahead of the Europa League qualifiers.

“I am optimistic ahead of the new season,” Jack, currently in the Algarve with the rest of the Rangers contingent, told the official club website. “We have a great squad of boys and we have kept the core of the team from last season so far, hopefully that continues.

“I think we have added real quality and there could be a couple more to come. So I think, no disrespect to last season, but I think the squad we are building is getting stronger and stronger, hopefully come the start of this season that shows.”

Though Jack cannot be blamed for treading carefully around a comment which could be interpreted as suggesting the 2018-19 batch was overall worse than the one currently taking shape, some Bears did not think so – in fact, they appreciated his honesty.
