Rangers fans respond to Myles Beerman’s tweet after signing new deal

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Myles Beerman’s tweet after it was announced that the left-back has signed a new contract at Ibrox.

Beerman may have been sweating over his future in recent months. Despite breaking into the first-team under Pedro Caixinha, the 19-year-old was entering the final weeks of his previous contract with the Gers, and having not played for the senior side at all this term, he may have feared that his days with the club were numbered.

However, Rangers announced on one of their Twitter accounts earlier this week that Beerman had agreed to extend his deal with the Light Blues until the end of next season. And following the news, Beerman took to social media to react to the contract extension.

Despite his lack of game-time with the first-team this term, news of Beerman’s new contract appears to have gone down extremely well amongst a large section of the Rangers fanbase.

The teenager looked bright at times when he was featuring for the senior side last season and has often impressed when playing for a development side that has really shown some fantastic form in recent months.

And with Lee Wallace currently suspended and perhaps facing a question mark over his future and midfielder Andy Halliday currently being used at left-back, several Rangers fans have suggested that they would like to see the youngster given a chance in the first-team next season.

With his deal only extended by a year, it seems fair to say that Beerman’s long-term future is not resolved, but it certainly appears that a large section of the fans are optimistic that he will be able to take full advantage of the opportunity.
