Glasgow Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty is set to spend the season away from Ibrox on loan.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to laud Greg Docherty after the Gers-owned midfielder scored and took the man of the match award from Shrewsbury’s latest clash which saw the League One side win for the first time this season.
Docherty’s form has started to turn a corner in recent times. He appeared to take a little while to find his feet following his loan exit from Ibrox, but he got on the scoresheet for the first time last weekend in the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth.
And the Rangers midfielder needed just five minutes of their latest game to add to his tally, as the Shrews beat Southend 2-0 to move a point clear of the bottom four.
His display saw the Gers ace named man of the match. And after the game, he took to social media to express his delight at the result and his own performance.

And in response to Docherty’s tweet, several Rangers supporters lauded the midfielder. Docherty was an extremely popular signing when he moved to Ibrox in January, and although he did not exactly establish himself during his first few months with the club, there is plenty of optimism that he will be a major success at Ibrox.
In fact, some of the fans even suggested that Docherty is going to be a future Rangers captain – which will undoubtedly provide the youngster with a major boost while he is out of Steven Gerrard’s plans.
