Glasgow Rangers produced an impressive victory at Ibrox as Steven Gerrard’s side ran out 5-0 winners.

A number of Rangers fans have responded to George Edmundson’s message on Twitter as he expressed his delight at helping the Gers mark their first appearance of the season at Ibrox with a 5-0 win.
Steven Gerrard’s side’s continued their impressive start to pre-season with the emphatic victory over Oxford United. Daniel Candeias, Greg Stewart, Lewis Mayo, Sheyi Ojo and Jermain Defoe all got on the scoresheet.
Edmundson got 45 minutes under his belt as he continues to settle into his new surroundings following his move from Oldham. He played alongside Nikola Katic before being replaced by Connor Goldson at the break.
The youngster settled into the game and produced some nice passes. He certainly showed that he has the potential to provide genuine competition to the likes of Katic and Goldson, who appear to be a safe bet to start the campaign as Gerrard’s first-choice pairing.

After the game, Edmundson took to Twitter to comment on the victory. Understandably, his tweet suggested that he is not going to get carried away with the win or performance. But he did get plenty of positive responses from the fans.
The supporters were full of praise for the centre-back, with many suggesting that they are optimistic that he is going to prove to be a very good signing for Gers. He was also compared with Xabi Alonso after producing a number of fine passes.
