Glasgow Rangers take on Aberdeen at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday, and Clint Hill has confirmed he will be attending.

Clint Hill has confirmed on his Twitter account that he will be attending Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen on Wednesday – and a number of the Gers fans do not seem to be happy with the idea of the veteran simply watching the game.

Hill spent just one season with the Light Blues, but was an extremely popular member of the squad during his time in Scotland, winning the fans over with his consistent and tireless displays. And of course, his late equaliser in the draw with Celtic at Parkhead certainly helped him establish something like cult-hero status amongst many of the fans.

He left in the summer with Pedro Caixinha not keen to renew his contract, but there are likely to still be a number of fans who would have rather he had stayed this season as he could have provided some additional depth to the defence and, perhaps more importantly, been an influential figure in the dressing room.

It has been another difficult year for the Gers, with Caixinha departing last month and the form under caretaker boss Graeme Murty proving a real mixed bag so far, with two wins being immediately followed by two defeats.

Murty will be hoping that his side get back to winning ways on Wednesday, but it will certainly be a tough ask with the Dons coming to Ibrox. And ahead of the game, Hill took to social media to confirm that he will be returning to watch his former team in action.

Given how popular Hill was during his time at Ibrox, it is absolutely no surprise that his tweet has been met with an extremely positive reaction from the Rangers fans who are also looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

While many of the messages saw the fans express their excitement that Hill was coming back, some suggested that the centre-back should bring his boots with him as they could probably do with him out on the pitch. Obviously, he will be hoping that the Gers’ performance means that he is not missed by the time the full-time whistle goes.

Here is the best of the reaction…
