The midfielder is a self-confessed supporter of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, and some of their fans want him at Ibrox.

Rangers fans are responding to a couple of Gers-supporting Swansea City players on Twitter.
George Byers and Oli McBurnie exchanged tweets after the Welsh side’s 4-1 FA Cup win over Brentford – including one from Byers that was distinctly Rangers themed.
And, as ever, the messages failed to go unnoticed by many within the Ibrox support base.

Both Byers, who scored in the game, and McBurnie were born and raised in England, but have been capped by Scotland at various levels.
And despite their ties to Swansea, the pair have refused to keep hidden their Rangers allegiance, which they frequently broadcast across social media.

McBurnie was a reported target for Steven Gerrard’s side during last summer’s transfer window [The Sun], but later signed a new three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.
Byers’s deal has another 15 months left to run, meaning that Rangers can approach him about a pre-contract agreement from January 2020 if he fails to sign a new one by then.
Would Byers and McBurnie improve Glasgow Rangers?
