Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has seen his name linked with the vacant managerial role at Premier League side Newcastle United.

Rangers supporters on Twitter are overjoyed but not surprised at reports that their manager Steven Gerrard has turned down the Newcastle United job.
Rafa Benitez, who used to manage Gerrard during their time on Merseyside, left St James’ Park when his contract expired at the end of last month.
It has seen a number of names touted for the now vacant post, with Gerrard seemingly turning down any advances from Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, according to the Mirror.
The Ibrox faithful are glad to see their popular manager stay on board as he targets silverware at the club ahead of the new campaign.
Gerrard will be entering his second season as a manager and many will not be surprised, including Gers supporters, that one day he will be managing in the English Premier League.

But for now, and to the delight of his own fans, Gerrard is aiming for that Scottish Premiership title, with pre-season already underway.
It remains to be seen how Newcastle will react to Gerrard’s answer because with the new season around the corner, the North East club need to find a new manager, as soon as possible.
