Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard knows what is required at Ibrox.

Rangers fans on Twitter are loving what manager Steven Gerrard said on Thursday.
The 38-year-old has bolstered his defence over the past week following the additions of centre-back duo Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson for a combined £5.5 million.
On Thursday, Gerrard said to Rangers TV: “That was an area where we needed players but players who fit the profile, who are hungry, who want to come in and defend this badge with their life.
“That was the message when we spoke to these players, it’s not about just coming to Rangers and being a Rangers player – it’s about coming and being a Rangers player and then defending the shirt with their life and both Katic and Goldson are right up for that challenge which excites me.”

The legendary midfielder was a controversial appointment at Ibrox given his lack of experience with regards to managing a senior team.
But Gerrard is clearly well aware that Rangers are a very big club, and fans of the Blues are loving their new manager’s latest comments.
Here’s how they reacted:
The Gers have a handy start to the 2018-19 campaign, with Gerrard’s side visiting Aberdeen and Motherwell in August, either side of a home clash with St Mirren on August 11.
The Liverpool icon signed a four-year deal with the Ibrox club and his mandate is simple: overhaul Celtic.
It really is a major ask, given how good Brendan Rodgers’s side are but, despite his lack of experience, Gerrard seems to be under no illusions that he is in charge of a massive club and that’s vitally important, considering you could argue that is what cost Pedro Caixinha.
