The Gers boss, addressing shareholders at the club’s annual general meeting, said he hoped to “stay here for a very long time”.
Steven Gerrard has certainly made an impact at Rangers since his appointment as manager in May on a four-year deal.
At the time, reaction was mixed among fans and pundits, but it did not take long for the Liverpool legend to endear himself to Gers’ supporters with his fighting attitude.
Gerrard has been delivering on the pitch too, with the Light Blues able to go top of the Scottish Premiership – for a few hours at least – should they beat Hearts on Sunday.
In addition, Gers remain in contention to reach the last 32 of the Europa League ahead of Thursday night’s meeting with Spanish side Villarreal.
Speaking at the Rangers annual general meeting on Tuesday, Gerrard credited chairman Dave King, director of football Mark Allen, managing director Stewart Robertson and the rest of the board with helping him succeed in his endeavours so far.
In addition, the 38-year-old expressed his desire to enjoy a long-term stay at Ibrox and “share some really good times together” with the Gers contingent.
“Without the support behind myself and my coaching staff, we wouldn’t have been able to have achieved what we have so far,” Gerrard told the audience at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow.
“I can assure everyone that we’ll give every bit of time and effort we’ve got to continue moving the club forward on the pitch and we’ll continue trying to attract the best players possible to help bring success back to this incredible club.
“I feel I’m in such a blessed position to be here as manager. I hope I stay here for a very long time and we share some really good times together.”
