Steven Davis spent four years at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers until 2012.

Rangers fans on Twitter have used Northern Ireland’s Nations League clash tonight to assert that Steven Davis would be a welcome addition at Ibrox.
The Scottish Daily Express [October 16] reported last month that Rangers were keen to re-sign the midfielder, who spent four years on the blue half of the Old Firm divide until 2012.
Davis turns 34 in January and probably isn’t the same player who the Gers fans fondly remember.
But some supporters of the Glasgow club are still keen to see him return in January, based on his latest performance.
The Southampton midfielder impressed in his country’s 2-1 defeat by Austria tonight, with Valentino Lazaro netting a last-minute winner to down Michael O’Neill’s side.
Here is how Davis’s performance was received by the Rangers faithful:
But is a return to Ibrox feasible? Probably not without a wage cut, for starters.
According to Spotrac, Davis, who has managed just the one Premier League appearance for Saints this season, is earning a whopping £60,000 per week and, simply put, there’s no way that Rangers can match that.
Steven Gerrard is building an exciting project in Glasgow and although a lot of players would love to be involved, it remains to be seen if it’s worth the significant drop in salary for Davis.
