Rangers drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers dropped points again on Saturday afternoon, only managing to record a 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock.
The Gers had drawn away at Hibernian last weekend and then lost to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup in midweek, meaning Steven Gerrard needed a win on Saturday to get back on track.
However, his Rangers side fell behind in the first half, with forward Conor McAleny grabbing the opening goal for the visitors, grabbing his second Kilmarnock goal.
Gerrard’s men were shackled by Steve Clarke’s side for much of the game, but they did grab a second half equaliser when Alfredo Morelos found the net, but they didn’t manage to find the winner.
With Celtic beating Dundee earlier today, Rangers are now 10 points behind their bitter rivals ahead of the Old Firm derby later this month, with the title race all but over now.
There weren’t many positives to take from the game, but the performance of midfielder Steven Davis encouraged many, given that he has largely struggled since returning from Southampton in January.
The Northern Irishman enjoyed his best performance yet since his return, with fans taking to Twitter to suggest that he was much more like the player they remembered from his first Ibrox spell.
Others celebrated that he has ‘finally arrived’, believing that he will get better and better with more match sharpness having been on the fringes at Southampton.
