Rangers coasted into the fourth round of the Scottish Cup by hammering Cove Rangers 4-0 on Sunday afternoon – and they will now face Celtic in the next round.
The Gers were thoroughly expected to coast through the game and avoid a cup upset, and they duly obliged.
Rangers were on top throughout, and took the lead as Jermain Defoe fired home a long-range strike, before Kemar Roofe added a quickfire bace.
Nathan Patterson added a fourth as he capitalised on slack defending to give Rangers the win inside the first half, and tee up and Old Firm derby in the next round.
He may not have got himself on the scoresheet, but winger Scott Wright made a big impact as he made his first start for Rangers since arriving from Aberdeen back in January.
The 23-year-old is seen as ideal competition on the flanks, and his performance – admittedly against lower league opposition – left Gers fans absolutely buzzing.

Many Rangers fans compared Wright to ex-Gers hero Brian Laudrup for his style of play, and believe that the club are on to a winner if he is even half the player.
Others think Wright is an absolute bargain, and can’t believe that Aberdeen have allowed him to walk away to such a big rival.
