Ryan Jack of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers has pulled out of Scotland’s latest squad.

Ryan Jack of Rangersclears off the line during the Betfred League Cup Semi Final between Rangers and Motherwell at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack won’t be playing for Scotland during the international week.

The 26-year-old has pulled out of Alex McLeish’s squad and has been sent back to Rangers following a knee injury.

Jack, who controversially joined the Gers from Aberdeen in 2017, has been booed by Scotland fans during previous caps for his country – especially when he was played right-back against the Netherlands on his debut 12 months ago.

Here is how Rangers fans reacted to the news:

The former Don is a big player for Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

He played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as the Blues destroyed Motherwell and won 7-1 at Ibrox, having also played the previous week in the win at St Mirren.

Gerrard has deputies who he can call on – namely Ross McCrorie and Andy Halliday – but the 38-year-old will hope that Jack’s knee problem is just precautionary.

The former Liverpool icon is already missing Ryan Kent and defender Ryan Goldson, while Kyle Lafferty only returned from injury on Sunday. Gerrard doesn’t really need another injury problem to contend with.
