According to the Daily Record, Rangers are interested in signing Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy this summer.
It’s claimed that the Gers are keeping close tabs on Murphy, but would only be pushed for should players leave Rangers.
The likes of Jordan Jones and Jamie Murphy will surely have to move on to make room for another winger, but Newcastle’s Murphy is a target.
Steven Gerrard is believed to be an admirer of Murphy, who Newcastle paid £12million to sign in the summer of 2017.
Murphy has spent the last 18 months out on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday, and his record is pretty impressive.
The 25-year-old has hit 53 goals an 48 assists across the course of his career, which comes out at 101 goal involvements in 275 appearances.

With that in mind, Rangers fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some wanting him signed up.
Others think that Murphy is a ‘quality player’, though others doubt the rumours and don’t think Mike Ashley would sanction a move to Ibrox.
