Glasgow Rangers fans are reacting to reports crediting Steven Gerrard’s side with interest in the released Newcastle United winger Alex Gilliead.
According to the Chronicle, contract talks between Gilliead and Newcastle reached an impasse, with the Magpies ultimately opting against making him a revised offer. And that is said to have piqued the attention of Gerrard, the new Rangers boss.
Gilliead impressed in loan spells at Carlisle United, Luton Town and Bradford City, but could not break into Rafa Benitez’s first team plans at St James’ Park.
