Glasgow Rangers will be without one of their most experienced players at Ibrox this weekend.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has confirmed that left-back Lee Wallace will miss Saturday’s Old Firm clash with Celtic at Ibrox.
The Rangers captain came off injured during Friday’s 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle, being replaced by 22-year-old loan signing Declan John.

And the Portuguese manager has confirmed that the veteran defender will play no part against the Hoops in news which has divided fans of the Ibrox club.
Given Wallace’s stature and experience, some are disappointed, but others appear to be thankful that the 30-year-old will sit out the visit of Celtic.

The Gers lost five of their six meetings with Celtic last season but there is a sense this time around that Caixinha’s current crop are better equipped to handle Brendan Rodgers’s all-conquering Hoops.
There is only five points between both sides in the Scottish Premiership and, crucially, Rangers actually have a goalscorer capable of hurting Celtic this time: Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian hitman has been a revelation since Caixinha plucked him from HJK Helsinki, scoring eight times in nine games and Rodgers will certainly be aware of his threat come the weekend.
