Glasgow Rangers’ interest in midfielder Kenny McLean has hit a dead end with the 26-year-old signing a deal with Norwich.
McLean had been reported to be on Rangers’ radar by the Scottish Sun, and outspoken pundit Chris Sutton even tipped him to move to Ibrox [Daily Record]
McLean’s contract is up at the end of this current season, but he will see out this season at Pittodrie.
He would have followed Ryan Jack in moving to Rangers, but the Gers signed Sean Goss on loan this transfer window, reducing the short term need to pay up for the Aberdeen talent.
Some Rangers fans are hoping they will go on to sign him on loan anyway in the future, just as they have with Jason Cummings who Hibernian did not want to sell to them – while others felt he was not an improvement on the squad’s current options.
