Glasgow Rangers picked up their first win of the new Scottish Premiership season, winning 2-0 at Ibrox.
A number of Rangers fans commented on Twitter after watching Ryan Kent’s display during the Gers’ 2-0 win over St Mirren on Sunday – and it appears that there is a divide amongst the Ibrox faithful regarding the Liverpool loanee.
Kent was one of a number of summer signings Gerrard brought to Rangers. Despite the winger somewhat losing his way over the last year or so, it did appear to be a coup for the Gers to get the Reds youngster through the Ibrox door as he clearly boasts potential.
He is however, competing in an area of the field where Rangers already boast a lot of quality, with the likes of Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias also looking for a chance on the wing.
It was Kent who got the nod for the starting lineup against St Mirren on Sunday, and he clearly showed glimpses of quality as the Gers went on to win 2-0 thanks to goals from Alfredo Morelos and Connor Goldson.
Some supporters were extremely impressed by the 21-year-old and felt that he was exciting and praised his willingness to look to make something happen when he got on the ball. However, not everyone was as happy with Kent’s performance.
There seemed to be plenty of fans who felt that Kent offered little and will need to step his game up significantly if he hopes to make his time with Rangers a success.
